Britannia 4-6-0

The 'Britannia' Class locos were the first of 12 types of standard locos designed by British Railways. Introduced in 1951 and intended to use the best ideas from SR, GWR, LMS and LNER locomotives, they were the first two cylinder British pacifics. Eventually totalling 55 members the class was withdrawn between 1965 and 1968, two are preserved, 70000 'Britannia' and 70013 'Oliver Cromwell' which worked the last official steam hauled train in the UK.
